AI-Generated Reddit Comments: From Draft to Post

How ReddGrow's AI finds relevant Reddit posts, generates authentic comments, and learns from your feedback to improve over time.

ReddGrow's core loop is simple: scan Reddit for posts where your product is relevant, generate a contextually appropriate comment, put it in your queue for review, and post it once you approve. This page explains each step in detail.

Draft Types

Not every draft is a promotion. ReddGrow generates three types of drafts depending on your account's karma level and the post context:

TypeDescription
PromotionalComment that mentions or links to your product directly
AwarenessHelpful comment that establishes authority without a direct mention — builds credibility for later promotion
WarmupPure community contribution with no product reference — used to build karma on new accounts

The mix of types is controlled by your account's warmup ratio. See Karma Warmup for details.

How Drafts Are Generated

The scanner runs on a continuous cycle:

  1. Post discovery — ReddGrow fetches rising and hot posts from your campaign's linked subreddits
  2. Relevance scoring — An AI model scores each post on how relevant it is to your product and campaign
  3. Threshold filtering — Posts below the relevance threshold are skipped; high-scoring posts move to generation
  4. Comment generation — The AI generates a comment using: the post content, subreddit guidelines, campaign instructions, and the assigned advocate's persona
  5. Compliance validation — A second AI pass checks the draft against subreddit rules and ReddGrow's safety system (see Comment Safety)
  6. Draft creation — Valid drafts land in your queue with status pending

The Approval Workflow

Every draft moves through a lifecycle:

pending → approved → posted
           ↓ ↓
         skipped skipped
StatusMeaning
PendingWaiting for your review
ApprovedYou've approved it — assigned to the Chrome Extension for posting
PostedSuccessfully posted to Reddit
SkippedYou (or auto-approval rules) rejected it — not posted

You can review and action drafts from the Drafts tab in the dashboard. Approved drafts are automatically routed to the Chrome Extension, which handles posting during its next session.

Editing Before Approval

You can edit any pending draft before approving it. Common edits include:

  • Softening promotional language to sound more natural
  • Adding subreddit-specific context you know the AI missed
  • Swapping a direct product mention for a subtler reference

Every edit you make is recorded. ReddGrow's feedback loop analyzes the diff between the AI's original draft and your edited version to infer your preferences.

How AI Learns Your Style

ReddGrow tracks three feedback signals:

  1. Approval without edit — the draft was on-target; reinforce this style
  2. Approval with edit — the draft had the right idea but wrong execution; analyze the diff
  3. Skip — the draft missed the mark; analyze why

Over time, the AI builds a learned preference profile per campaign: preferred phrases, comment length, mention patterns, and tone nuances. This profile is injected into future generation prompts, progressively reducing the editing you need to do.
