WordPress Integration: Publish Content Agent Drafts to Your Site

Once connected, the ReddGrow content agent publishes full articles and FAQ blocks straight to your WordPress site, creating new posts, updating them as your product or messaging changes, and retracting them if needed. It authenticates using WordPress's built-in Application Passwords feature, so no plugin is required.

Requirements

• WordPress 5.6 or later, served over HTTPS (Application Passwords are disabled entirely on unencrypted HTTP sites)
• A WordPress account with a role that can publish posts (Author or above)
• Access to that account's wp-admin profile page

Get your credentials

1. Log into wp-admin as the account you want ReddGrow to publish as
2. Go to Users → Profile (or Users → All Users and open the specific account, if you're managing one on behalf of someone else)
3. Scroll down to the Application Passwords section near the bottom of the profile page
4. Enter a name for the new password, e.g. ReddGrow
5. Click Add New Application Password
6. Copy the generated password immediately. WordPress shows it only once and never displays it again

Connect in ReddGrow

1. Go to Settings → Integrations
2. Under Website publishing, find the WordPress card and click Connect
3. Fill in the form:
   • Site URL: your site's full https:// address
   • Username: your WordPress login name, not your email address or display name
   • Application password: the value you copied in the step above
4. Click Connect WordPress

If another platform is already connected, ReddGrow warns you that connecting WordPress will replace it. Only one website can be connected at a time.

Troubleshooting

The Application Passwords section doesn't appear on my profile page

This usually means the site isn't serving HTTPS, or a security plugin (Wordfence, iThemes Security, and similar) has disabled the feature. Check your plugin's settings for an "Application Passwords" toggle, or ask your host to confirm HTTPS is enforced site-wide.

ReddGrow reports a 401 error when connecting

Either the username or the password is wrong. Double-check that you entered your WordPress login name (not your email), and that you copied the application password exactly. Regenerate a fresh one if you're not sure it copied correctly.

The connection tests fine but nothing publishes

The account tied to the application password doesn't have publishing permissions. Use an Author, Editor, or Administrator account instead of a Subscriber or Contributor.

I run WordPress Multisite and connections keep failing

Generate the Application Password on the specific subsite you want ReddGrow to publish to, and use that subsite's own URL as the Site URL, not the network's primary domain.
